ya, same here. i like sandwiches enough, but i never take them to school or work since i don't own a container to safely house one. it'd get smushed. sandwiches are what i eat for lunch when i am at home.

i bought this book a couple years back for a dollar. the two spreads i am going to make are from the back of it.

i think i could find a couple staple sandwiches i'd be willing to buy a container for. i saw one at target for 5 dollars.

Does anyone here fuck exclusively with cast-iron? It changed my life. I will never use non-stick teflon again.

I really like vintage enamelware (flintstone) for stock pots. Never heard of cadmium until I googled it:

Cadmium has become a more prevalent cause for concern in recent years. Like lead, it is an underground mineral that did not enter our air, food, and water in significant amounts until it was mined as part of zinc deposits. Now there is widespread environmental contamination with cadmium.

We buy them at health food stores because the ceramic coated pans are supposedly safer than teflon, and good for the planet. A new investigative report by an Israeli consumer protection TV show called Kolbotek finds that ceramic cookware may damaging to your health, and could contain lead and cadmium, which cause a number of serious medical problems such as brain damage (especially in small children), and certain types of cancer. The problem is with the lack of regulation on the materials used to color the pots and pans, and these colors made with cadmium and lead, can leak into your food.

i don't just exclusively fuck with cast iron, but it has lots of uses. i like to use it for cornbread, hashes, and small pizzas, too.

Pruitt wants to stand up for the people that work within the zinc industry. Mitigation and prevention of contamination is too costly. Let's just get heavy metal poisoning so some people can make a pittance and some can make a fortune.

oh and crucial: a baking steel pizza "stone"

went through like 4 of the ceramic ones. they always break eventually. the steel one works just as well, if not better. and it's not breaking any time soon.

one day i'll build my own outdoor pizza oven.

Wow look at this guy. He can spend $300 on one piece of cookware or thousands on a set.

A really good 20+ year lifespan sweater I can get behind. Shade grown, organic, fair trade coffee and chocolate? Ok. It does taste better and is maybe a little better for the environment/people involved in the process. Local pastries made with butter? Costs the same as the supermarket but tastes a lot better and helps the local businesses out. Williams sonoma overpriced cookware? Fuck you. Good food can be made in cheap, hand-me-down cookware too.

just cause you'd rather buy over-priced woolen sweaters with buttons (no zippers) doesn't mean everyone else needs to have those priorities. and corky could have received that stuff as a wedding gift.

i hope no one judges you over a stupid wedding gift. dense bitch.
