Yeah, seeing that clip makes me excited for the tour again. For me it's always been all about Jimmy, but you don't really get to feel his thunderous sound in the plainsong setting. Seeing him go balls out with James and his signature sound is definitely awesome.

I couldn't really hear Jeff at all. I know everyone gave me endless shit, but I did say that when there's 3 guitarists in the group, 1 guitarist always takes a back seat and is quieter than the rest. I'm just happy it's Jeff!

Yeah, Billy's getting old. It's super cool to see the 3 of em up there again though. I think it's gonna be quite a killer tour.

Billy sounds like he's sick.

It's crazy how much James adds to the sound.

You guys are getting carried away by the shiny and oh so bright carnival. This is what narcissists do to save face, put on a big show to mess with your emotions. Don’t forget how well all felt in February when we got a peek behind the curtain. That shit was real.

No offense to Mike Byrne on bass

Ive seen them live so many times including acoustic shows and that was perhaps the most uninspired and phoned in performance of Zero ive ever seen or heard, considering the hundreds of live bootlegs ive heard. Bollz was off tonight maybe he was sick but he clearly has no energy or stage presence at all, they wont last an entire tour like this, his voice is shot and he looked exausted and distant and opressed. Pow?

Zero sounds great wth you talking about.

i get the vibe BC is nervous which he always is when it comes to TV performances. it never works well with him.

shit's so placid it makes Ocean Tour DVD looks like fuckin' 93 at the Metro

Jimmy's great obviously but when literally no one else in the band is doing shit to even half-match it, does it really matter that much?

He sang the first few lines of Solara in completely the wrong key before settling into the actual key on, “I’m here to stay.”

A common wedding singer would get fired for that shit

honestly, i wasn't sure if that's what was actually going on or the "chugging" was just too atonal to provide an actual discernible key and he was actually on

Jmmy and James sounded great. They're the only things good about the band right now

I, so much, want to love the song and think SP is back. They're not. Jimmy mauling fills and James playing amazing leads won't help shitty songwriting. I know you know I know how much I love Jimmy C. Jimmy's not gonna save the band. The acoustic Towers of Rabble from the Double Door shows was way better than this.

I thought the Fallon performance of Solara was pretty impressive, but man, that Zero effort is a little sad isn't it?

That's why I'm saying, the Pumpkins need to seriously ditch Billy, and hire a good songwriter and singer. Then bring back D'arcy. And it will be fucking awesome

I listened twice in a row, and memorized the starting note of the melody once the key center was established. The starting note is a b3. He was hitting something sharp of that and not really singing in any key at all. Especially noticeable on the 5-b6-6 ascending melody.

You can hear him throughout the song revert to this breathy thing where there’s not even a discernible pitch (the first a-yee a-yee a-yee, for example.) I guess it is what it is. He’s not a musician’s musician. I just wish he wouldn’t brag about his skills all the time then do shit like that. Just embrace being a Dylan type musician, stop pretending you’re Malmsteen.

for real if ever a band needed to "pull an Audioslave" it's the Pumpkins in 2018

Funny how some of you try to find any positive thing in this performance. The song sucks so much. Why dont you go to jimmys jazzband if its sooo good.
Billys singing has become so obviously annoying.

I played the song to a bunch of friends. After 1 min they said stop that shit. I wasnt surprised.

How lame the sp became. And now a best of tour. What a sellout

Not really. At all. He’s sloppy as hell and misses half the notes he tries to play in his leads. Jeff is much more a musician’s musician. Billy has nothing resembling the skill set of a professional guitarist

James sounded and looked awesome. Billy’s vocals were weak and off key. Also #firejeff

jeff is a session musician's session musician, maybe
but no one who actually values soul and individuality behind an instrument would give him much of a shit
billy, on the other hand, is distinctive and interesting, being a great musician doesn't always revolve around perfection or how closely you can resemble a machine

Yeah man. Look no further than Dylan for that! What irritates me though is how Billy stil brags about his guitar playing. He’s incredibly inspired and creative but he’s not a very skilled guitarist. Or singer. lol

Billy could blow wet farts into a microphone on this zero and I’d still love it, it’s so great to hear james solo on this rather than having to put up with Jeff’s aimless fucking noodling. And then jimmy owning that groove like the band is his little bitch. Love it.
