well, no production does not equal bad production

Lonesome, Crowded West
This Is A Long Drive...
Building Nothing
The M&A
We Were Dead
Good News

Sad Sappy Sucker is actually an album and a comp. The first 15 tracks were originally going to be there first album, but it was never released as such and then they made Long Drive instead.

When the hell is the EP with the outtakes from the last two albums going to fucking come out? i haven't heard anything in so, so long. Mr. Marr said it was done and ready to go, if i'm remembering correctly.

What's with all this Good News coming after We Were Dead nonsense! Yeah it's different than their earlier stuff, but it sounds like the right direction to go in after M+A. I think it's a solid album, We Were Dead is just gross save for like 3 songs.

i'd say songs like Fly Trapped In A Jar, Education, Steam Engenius, and March Into The The Sea seem more of a next step than the better songs off of Good News were (Bury Me With It, Dance Hall, Bukowski, The View).

this actually inspired me to make a "tracklist" from the two albums that would've made a more "proper" follow-up.

1. March Into The Sea
2. Dashboard
3. Bury Me With It
4. Dance Hall
5. Fly Trapped In A Jar
6. Bukowski
7. Education
8. The Devil's Workday
9. Steam Engenius
10. The View
11. Satin In A Coffin
12. Blame It On The Tetons
13. King Rat
14. Invisible

keep in mind it's supposed to be an album that sounds more like the modest mouse i know and love. any songs you would've included that sound a little more like old school modest mouse than the songs i picked?

songs like One Chance, Missed The Boat, and Little Motel are the songs that really disappoint me nowadays.

Ugly Casanova was awesome, they should have stuck with that sort of thing rather than making that fucking Bad News for People Who Like Good Music album.

i can't believe... wait, nevermind. i can believe that so many of you like this band.

(I did the same thing for Kiss Me and Wish for the Cure. A lot more satisfying)

Yeah Fly Trapped in a Jar and March into the Sea are good songs, I don't really remember the other two. Parting of the Sensory, Fire it Up, Spitting Venom feel sorta like Moon and Antarctic songs. And I liked Little Motel as a single, nice vibe to it, Dashboard is what really turned me off from the album.

But as for Good News, I like most songs but The World At Large, Bukowski, Devils Word Day, Black Cadillacs just seem right to me. The View could be the Paper Thin Walls of that album.

Anyone notice how Blame it on the Tetons sorta rips of Sonic Youth's Unwind?

oh man, i can't believe i forgot about this album when listing therm earlier. i'd probably place this one above The M&A, maybe even above BNOOS.

my favorite song is probably Teeth Like God's Shoeshine. it was Doin' The Cockroach for a really, really long time though.
