It's gotta just be another love song. Hell, that's the inspiration for just about everything right? From classical artists to rockers, the females give us motivation.

Of course, I'm probably wrong. Billy's lyrics have been so damn cryptic over the years that I never know what to think.

"I dont want to fight, Every single night"

Could be about touring with James or something?

I meant quite literally that it would be very homosexual for Billy to write a song about loving a man and standing in his light.
he was being sarcastic.

I believe it's about the band reforming, and yes, I believe there's a call out to James. But I don't think it's negative.

More of a "if you were here, I'd be happy, if not, I'm still happy. We're still real"

raindrops + sunshowers is about the winter billy spent living on james' car roof; those trips up the autobahn were pretty tough.

but i don't think that billy writes songs about ex band members, he justs posts blogs about them behind their backs.
*giggle*

Anyway, naaaah I dun think it's about James. Pretty much a "we're back! WOO WOO!" sorta song. I think.

Billy named it Tarantula after the band the Scorpians...right?

Post Torment

"Torment"

I generally get the feeling that Billy is a tormented guy. Billy just wishes that he could go back to that place where He and James and D'arcy all started out together and recapture that magical place where they started their career. If James was reasonable and D'arcy could just get her act together everything would be alright. Unfortunately, everything is not alright and he can never go back to that happy place. So now, this has become a torment for him.

This is all so sad because this is why divorces are usually a depressing mess and sometimes end in violence. It kind of reminds of a Star Trek: Voyager episode, a season ender where a scientist desperately tries to go back and rewrite history to repair a damage; however, the more he tries, the worst it gets.

Unfortunately, at some point, you have to be mature enough to except the fact that you can never go back, and that you can only go forward. However, I'm not too sure if he can ever stop thinking about the past, that magical place, long enough to move forward. Some people just lack a certain maturity because their controlling mindset is simply too stubborn to except defeat.

It's this sort of a mindset that reminds you of anther, current nincompoop in high office today. A silly guy named Bush.... very immature but stuck like deer caught in headlight, frozen and unable to move.

Actually Im pretty sure it's the complete opposite. The chorus is practically a declaration of still being real and unchanged and the people who can't move on are the people he seems to be sympathizing with, or trying to convince I guess. But like I said, I think this song is broader than just SP.

Wow, SP fans are egotistical. They think every song that says you is written directly to them.

My guess is it's about courtney love.
