Headphone/IEM recs?
y'all'd know this i assume
what are some good things [either full over ear or in ear, only] that are -noise isolating, which i need for drums and ignoring others -delivers nice soundstage suited for shoegaze et al -waterproof would be nice -not too expensive would be nice -bluetooth would be cool |

I’ve been using Bose quietcomfort 35 II lately and they’re pretty good for noise cancelling. I have to take them off or uncover an ear to hear anything really. But it’s my first experience with noise cancelling so my standards are probably pretty low. I think these are mid range in terms of price. Similar to beats or whatever.

i picked up a pair of Vic Firth SIH's for like $80 since the drummers i was recording were constantly asking me to turn up their headphone volumes etc and it was getting kind of ridiculous - they definitely isolate the sound, haven't really used them for "casual listening" tho, and honestly i'd recommend you look at "headphones to wear while playing" as a different category altogether than ones for everyday use & whatnot

Get a pair of Audio Technica MTH-M50x headphones. They're an absolute workhorse and are great for pretty much everything, including isolation, and have an excellent sound for the usual price.

Headphones are awful. Music needs to breathe.

I know a pair of headphones is good when I can understand Billie Eilish's whisper singing while in public transport.

I finally got a spare 2.5mm to 3.5mm cord for the Sennheiser 598s I had sitting for a year - they're great listening headphones [but bad for drumming - they're open back] and I'm glad I spent $8 on the cable instead of being a dummy. Ready to bless them with Cotillions
My preview all-arounder but now just the pair that lives in the basement with the drums are the Sennheiser 280s. Wish they were a bit tighter but meh |

Sennheiser 598s are my main headphones! God, they sound so good. Really comfortable, too.

i've been using shure se215s for a while and like them. if you're fancy, you could spend the $800 or whatever on the model with 16 drivers or whatever
