just speculating here but i'm assuming you feel you're not getting enough feedback/proper criticism about the work you create?

personally i think one way to bypass that is to create a mountain of work and document everything.

yeah and that's a good way to go. it'll get way better for me soon but i'm the sort of person who pretty much only does anything if i can get some kind of positive feedback for it so ;-(

either that or taking plaster casts of pregnant women's bellies

or caricatures on the boardwalk

A duo I am playing in called "Tongue Oven" ..I play the guitar, my friend sings, plays banjo, guitar, harmonica, writes the songs.

Here's three vids from a recent performance.

Murder ballad called "Mary lay your dagger down" - http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7RQRlj7GRo8

Fun song called "chicken" - has a beckish led zepish kinda feel to it.. At least that's what I get from it. - http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NuyUEZ7CCpI

Pretty instrumental called "I'm not racist, but..." - http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGBuTLLZp8o

depends on how clean of a sound you want. contact mic - clip mic (like an acoustic pickup right?) - sm58 from dirtiest to cleanest. the first two will give you options to plug into fx pedals, no?

In the past I've used a condenser mic for a clarinet, I'd avoided using a 58 on a clarinet.

Put a condenser or ribbon right the player's shoulder next to their ear and another mic about 3 feet in front of them at the same height as the instrument.

also one under the player's chair, that really helps somehow. place a fourth microphone around two meters above the second microphone to balance bleed-through. put an omnidirectional mic in the room next to the one with the player in it. use that one exclusively.

Hey one of my bands The Curiously Strong Peppermints just released the second in our Singles Series, "Supernovacaine" b/w "Armageddon Towne - Population: 2". Chek it out if you want, it's a free dl whatever.

judging from the single, band sounds like its:

3rd guy on the left is the secret to the band emotionally and spiritually.
4th guy wishes the style was harder but is happy to be in a band. makes it harder and faster.
2nd guy is just happy to be playing music; brings half-baked genius ideas into the mix
1st guy cares a lot about what the other 3 dudes are doing. searches for balance. vocals and words are a reaction to that. needs to push rather than pull.

the shirt you are wearing is plenty more psyche than the disco collar penguin shirts i had seen previously. still man the jeans in the band gotta go. professional attire.

100% complete unbiased opinion before the picture. personal notes after.
