What a show, by far the best performce I've seen the band play since the 90's.

I didn't note down the setlist but they kciked off with tonight tonight, Cherub Rock, Space Oddity and X.Y.U. and the encore was The Celestials (acoustic) and Porcelina which was perfect. The thing I noticed tonight was that the band really felt like a band and Billy seemed to have regained the passion and aggression and the screams were back. I went in feeling doubtful on recent performances but was pleasantly surprised.

Totally, Very glad its not just me. I'd heard such bad reviews of Wembley as a venue but it was much better than 09 at the Manchester Arena. Encore was great, Oceania was a bit of a lull but I don't get why they aren't playing Chimera, My Love Is Winter or Inkless instead if Pinwheels / One Diamond etc... Never heard 33 live before, sang my guts out much to the amusement of people round me but who cares. It honestly made me want a new album and a new tour.

Are they not playing Blank Page anymore? I thought the Oceania-Blank Page-33 combo sounded good and audiences seemed to like it. Nice that he's playing 33, though. It be nice if he played a few more Gish tunes, too.

Billy's older now, he's never gonna perform those vocals as did in the 90's. that said, last night was the best perfomance I've seen him put in for a while. The sound/mix was fantastic from where I was stood. I think I've attended almost every London show they've played since the Mellon Collie tour and last night was for me, personally, the best I've seen the band play since 1996.

Another contributing factor to this is the backing tracks - Disarm's was a bit tasteless, Ava Adore's overbearing and distorted and 33's pretty much removed the beautiful loose, open vibe that this song should have.
Figures. One of the things I love about the band is the 'organic and dreamy' music. I'm never gonna listen to new Ruby or Porcelina in full if I can help it.

And the other thing I love about the band is Jimmy.

Jeff and Billy both seem to like going off on their own little soloing adventures without really paying any attention to the song or each other. With Mike drumming to something completely different altogether in the background, it sounds a complete mess.
