Default Is it me or does the Clash kinda suck?

Just downloaded their discography the other day and been browsing through it, and aside from the hits there's a lot of crap that just drags on and on without any real musical excitement.

Can anyone help a brother out and name the good songs throughout their discography that aren't hits?

I never liked the Clash either. They wrote some good pop songs though.

The Clash are so good and yet so popular that it makes me want to reach for the "hipsters being hipsters" line when people try to diss on them

I wouldn't, but it makes me want to

London Calling > Pet Sounds + anything else you like

What I love about The Clash is how fast they transitioned away from the down stroked power chords thing

I don't like how punk is synonymous with hardcore punk to a lot of people where it's Ramones at triple speed only a fraction of the punk I like is anything like that

in 9th grade when kids discover classic rock the clash was a thing with my friends for awhile. I had a burned copy of London Calling and I remember liking it but I can't really remember it now

I think the canonized punk bands are still great and though they may have achieved "classic" status according to Rolling Stone's magazine there is the same amount of people actually listening to them today as their was in 1977

that is, not many
