This would be good if you jettisoned the adult contemporary radio coldplay hooks (or maybe just sacked the vocalist entirely) and turned your guitars up, like, LOUD AS SHIT.

Nah Slayer guitars are pretty tinny and usually below the vocals in the mix.

I just listened to two of your songs on Soulseek. Reverie and Fight Like Dogs. The music is pretty good. Kind of hypnotic slowcore / dream pop / shoegaze. The male vocalist sucks. His voice is too breathy and thin. He doesn't have a good voice plain and simple. You should just let the girl sing.

I was going to get around to listening to the new stuff but I wanted to check out if you had anything on Soulseek first. Soulseek is a file sharing network.
The vocals on the soundcloud stuff are pretty much the same. Still breathy and thin. The music is alright but I just can't get past how bad the singing is. |

I guess for this type of music the vocals are ok. I never really expect shoegaze bands to have great male singers. The female singers for shoegaze bands are always better than the men. Maybe that's one of the reasons why I don't really listen to this type of music anymore. I want singers that can actually sing. I've been listening to this British band called A Silent Film lately. And the guy who sings for that band is amazing. A Silent Film are such a slept on band. They deserve to be so much bigger than they are.
But these vocals are even worse than the sub-par vocals I'm used to hearing from shoegaze bands. It almost sounds like you are just trying way too hard to sound deep and emotive. Like it doesn't sound natural. |

A Silent Film aren't going to be for everyone. You'd probably have to like the Killers and Coldplay to really appreciate them. But man can that guy sing regardless. He has a commanding powerful voice. His voice isn't thin and whiny and breathy.

maybe it wouldn't be tempting to put down your stuff (or more tempting to listen to it in the first place) if you had posted it in the "post your music here" thread - like everyone else.

Man before I thought this just wasn't for me but since you've decided to be a dickhead in this thread I will take any opportunity to talk shot on your band and share screen caps of you acting like an entitled shit on social media.

PS your vocals suck BAD, you are dragging your band mates down, and I suspect everyone in the band secretly hates you.

My agenda is simply "if someone asks for feedback be brutally honest, and call out cockhead behaviour in your community"
Who cares how many websites reviewed your shitty album? Music journalism is a farce. Noisey saying it's good doesn't make it good. Grow up. |

It'll enrich my life and edify me? Do you talk this way out loud?
My point isn't that I'm objectively right and that those music writers are objectively wrong. My point is that you came here, asked for feedback, and then were so incensed by hearing that someone didn't like your music that you had to lecture them on why they're wrong, which is childish and dumb. Your music isn't for everyone, it sure isn't for me. But you can't handle that. You had to go down the path of OH WELL YOU DONT KNOW ANYTHING LOOK AT ALL THESE REVIEWS! Like... Grow up dude. Not everyone in the world has to enjoy your music, and if you ask people what they think of it, someone is eventually going to tell you that it sucks. Learn to deal with that. |

Can we just take a minute to appreciate how awful this paragraph is? This guy actually makes fuzzy look like a valuable and intelligent contributor. That's quite a feat.

I did cringe a little when CW laid into the vocals and the next post "yeah that's me"
ouch. |

I listened to the 2 songs that played first. First song the vocals do kinda sound a little thin man. It sounds like you're really trying to do some artificial phrasing thing especially during the "sumaaaaaar" parts that sound a little awkward as opposed to just rolling out with your "natural voice". Vocals were better on the 2nd song but it sounds like you're just doing an obvious Chino Moreno impression.
Definitely potential there in the group, but you guys should try to break out of that mold and try and push the boundaries because the sound is a little bit generic and been done a lot and better by other groups. |

Just gave the first song a 2nd listen. The vocals sound oddly muffled too. It's like you overkilled it with overdubs and backup vocals and they don't quite mesh right. The lead vocals aren't more predominate than the backups and it just sounds like the mixer kinda botched that shit. It'd probably sound a lot better if you got remixed a bit.

“New Waves Of Hope is an old fashioned kind of album in that it’s a varied opus designed to be listened to in full" New Waves of Hope’ is a coherent and cohesive amalgam, an intuitive and detailed odyssey, unconstrained by genre, it excels in delineating the transience of the corporeal realm… ‘The Malaise Is Over’, haunts the mind, it’s ephemeral wisps, fleetingly coalesce, tantalisingly dissipating in particulate elegy… The name comes from a dance involving the smallest rhythmical movements possible, such as the fluttering of eyelids which my wife and I do, mostly to Postal Service’s “Clarke Gable.” It’s pretty charming! Sometimes we just want to convey an attitude, and that transcends genre. It’s possible to project the power of heavy metal , the imperious attitude of Phil Anselmo, without chugging, distorted riffs. http://i.imgur.com/naTi9xg.png |

dunno, man. i bet CW actually only listened to two half songs and then wrote his feedback. rather pointless.
but yeah, now even fuzzy has reviewed two tracks. that kills any album. the end. we could've warned you, but it's too late now. |
