Default What is the final show?

So there's a thread on the trading board asking for the 'final show.' You know, the 2000/12/02 Metro show. The one whose DVD we're all waiting for. But it kinda occurs to me that the significance of this show now boils down to the fact that it's James' last show. The last performance of the original line-up was the Roxy show. The last performance of "The Smashing Pumpkins" is yet to come. Maybe it's just the last Chicago Pumpkins show, ever?

srsly though...you're right about james. not only the farewell shows, but he was "cold as ice" during the final japan leg as well.

believe what you want about him "breakign up the band" but its obvious there was something nasty going on between him and billy, the effect of which (or possibly the cause) was his miserable nature on stage during that timeframe.

I think that in a sense, The Last Song really was the last song. You know?

Although your all right about James' apathetic attitude during the last few months, I do not think there is any one event that marked the end of the friendship between Corgan and Iha. the simple fact, in my opinion, is that Iha had simply tired of everything about the band.

Obviously the only person in the band he shared any kind of true emotion with was D'arcy, and I think once she left, that signaled the end of the band's significance in his life.

I like to refer to the Machina era as the Robot-Iha era.
For the most part, James stood there and played his part like an actor in his place.

How do you hide something behind a toilet when you can't tell where the front is

I mean aside from lifting the cover and seeing where the hinges are
