Ok so I work in a grocery store. This motherfucker, despite the cornucopia of foods surrounding him and the fact that he makes 6 figures, always manages to buy the worst processed shit to eat. Today he bought this for breakfast:

Like we have a full service deli, including sandwiches, soups, chicken and pork cooked in various ways, a shit ton of pre-made salads and fruit combinations, PLUS AN ENTIRE REGULAR GROCERY STORE FULL OF STUFF, and he always, always gets this kind of shit. It's hilarious.

He also comes off like a big prick, like despite himself. He tries to be nice I think because he knows he comes off like... you imagine how someone named Brick comes off. So he definitely tries to be nice in spite of this, after the first few weeks of working where he didn't even say hi to anyone.

6 figures? Sheeyat, I need to get into the grocery store managing game!

Also, thanks for sharing. This was amusing. And I know too many people like this. Hell, my dad was a supposedly a gourmet chef in his day but in the small window we spent with him, all he cooked us was stuff like Hamburger/Tuna Helper.

I missed the 6 figures part. I don't want to be a snob because I know what poverty does to others' ideas of what is/should be food but 6 figures in Florida is doing real good. Wouldn't you at least get a sub sandwich

yeah, basically assistant dept managers make around 35-40k, dept managers are 50-70, assistant store managers are around 100k and store managers are 120-140k

they work 50 hours per week scheduled, and sometimes more often. at least 3 weeks vacation, i think you can get up to 6 after 10 years. and there are bonuses etc

red pandas are not very panda-like at all. they're more like red colored hybrids between a raccoon and a lynx. it makes me a sad panda to see people calling them pandas.

i paid to pet one in the Chengdu panda park when i was there in 2008 (the trip that acquainted me with China in the first place) and now regret cooperating with that touristy shit that exploits animals. was not thinking about it like that at the time.
