Darn, somebody offered more for the #2 stratocaster than my $33 bid. Hopefully, Bills will choose my bid because of its meaningfulness.

don't you think it's sad/sick that they're sellling these selected items in a silent auction, and then decide to email all participants with the current score, in order to add another round to the silent auction?
how much harder could they (he?) milk it?

I doubt it's for the money, per se. Anyone with a few million in safe investments should get in yearly returns multiples of what Billy's entire reverb shop might.

It's probably about wanting the items and the band they're associated with appear as legendary rock icons due to the eye-catching prices they finally sell for.

I still hope my $33 bid gets the #2 strat.

Five years ago there was an official SMASHING PUMPKINS-shop on eBay (Official SP Memorabilia), where you could get a GIBSON tour guitar from 2000 for $2600 by bidding...
Still documented by our friends Brett Buchanan and Jonathan Monte:

The eBay prices weren't anything like what the current Reverb stuff is going for.

I'd love to know who got the Digitech DHP-55, and ask them what the setups are for some of the listed tracks (Hummer, Cherub Rock, Drown, Soma, Rocket, and Today).

i asked BC for a guitar pick at one of the VIPs during the end times tour in 2015... he just gave me the one he had in his hand. He seemed happy to give it while i expected him to roll his eyes or something. It wasn't really free... it kind of cost $300 or something lol

Best regards,

Reverb Artist Collections
so none of the items of the silent auction were sold. the offers they received were too low.
(apparently reverb - even after this email - were calling up people who placed offers, asking to place even higher offers.)

they've been relisted now, but it's possible to make an offer.

I'm insanely curious as to who, if anyone, will actually pay a million dollars for that guitar.

Also, I'm guessing Billy has had these guitars expertly recreated and doesn't need the original anymore.

That's just a placeholder price innit. Probably the highest it can be set, just to signify that people should make high offers. if they set it to 30k no one will offer more than that

there was absolutely no point in making this a silent auction. those are for fundraising events.

put it on ebay with a reserve, and be done with it. you'll see exactly how much people are willing to pay for it.

besides listing the #2 Strat at ONE MILLION DOLLARS, the funniest thing is also listing the Alesis drum machine at a million dollars. you can buy that same drum machine, same model, brand new - for about a hundred bucks on amazon right now.

Congrats! You mean $4,000, right? That was one of the items that was actually reasonably priced.

https://reverb.com/ca/p/diezel-vh4-1...isting=6319286

The beat-up Machina-album VH4 has a $2,500 premium on it, putting it at $6,500.

https://reverb.com/ca/item/6319288-d...in-machina-amp

If you click on the amp head listings, most of them have pictures of the tubes inside. You can see which tubes Billy uses for which amps, and for which purposes. He has Sovtek EL34 WXTs in the 1997 JCM 800 which he used for leads and harmonies in the studio, and he has JJs 6L6Gs in the Machina VH4.
