Do people birth snakes from their bellybutton in that?

Faust (2001) - 1/5
I'm still trying to process what the fuck I watched. It's based on a comic book, and it's about a guy who becomes a helldemon after making a pact with the devil... but also it's a body horror extravaganza, someone births a snake through their bellybutton... a woman gets turned into a puddle. Every time the titular character is on screen we hear shitty nu metal too. Just wow.
Oh shit, I forgot about Faust. LOL. Shame, the director did some good stuff (Society, Bride of Re-Animator) but that movie was not one of them.

Also, I mostly agree with your assessment of Exorcist III. It has some flaws, but some really good pieces to it. There's a director's cut that's supposedly more lucid that was released on Blu-ray a few years back that I've yet to check out.

But yeah, the hospital/corrider scene. Yikes! I think a turd rolls out of my pantleg every time I see that.

47 Meters Down - 6/10

Pretty fair as a late-night "I'm not ready to go to bed" Netflix affair. Mandy Moore gets plunked to the bottom of the ocean and fights sharks. I was with it until the ending. Not to be too crude, but it felt like receiving a blowjob, getting ...almost there and suddenly being told to finish it yourself.

I waited until I could buy it digital because I have a bad anxiety about theaters. I wish I could have seen it in the theater though. I know it got released on Netflix over the pond.

Yeah Annihilation was straight to Netflix here.

(I kinda wish every movie was just on Netflix, oh well)

I mean it may or may not have something to do with the fact that I'm devoting my time to rewatching films like American Beauty

Don't Look Now - 9/10

A thoroughly engrossing classic that focuses on character and tension over scares and thrills. Also host to one of the greatest cinematic "wtf" endings of all time. I will be watching this again shortly.

Moon - 9/10

A compelling sci-fi drama in which Sam Rockwell plays with himself while a robot frowns. Out of this world.

Sigh, yes. Unfortunately, Spacey's been in a lot of good shit. I still don't know how I feel about the separating the art from the artist in this case (though I can tell you I still haven't had the urge to watch anything Louis CK related since his big reveal), but I did watch Se7en a few months back (for the umpteenth time) and knowing he's a big creep in real-life kind of/sort of added to Spacey's presence in that movie.

I think when it comes to more up close and personal art-forms like comedy and music, the separation becomes a little more difficult.

Also, when's Bryan Singer's reckoning going to arrive? Je-sus Christ that guy is long overdue.

Yeah to me, the whole compartmentalizing is totally on a case-by-case person-by-person basis.
Louis C.K. always came across as a skeezy guy to me, so all the accusations were really just confirming how I felt about him in general.

It’s amazing how many “horror fans” have never even heard of, much less seen DON’T LOOK NOW.
