Chicago what!!!!!

Chi Theatre is a superb venue. Auditorium is OK, but not as good sound IMO.

i completely disagree and was about to say the opposite!

auditorium sound >>> chicago theatre sound.

good news is there isn't really a bad seat in the house (other than the very back of the floor-level, both venues) because the sound disperses so well at both venues, especially to the balconies. both venus are < 4000 capacity but auditorium has had many more rockin shows as of late.

hard to compare without seeing the same band at both venues...but after Tool and Radiohead at Auditorium Theatre I don't think I've ever seen a Chicago Theatre show that compared to those (in terms of soud quality, not just the bands performing).

I've never been to Chicago - is that near O'hare or Midway airports? It looks like I can get a nonstop flight tue morning and come back thurs for like 200 bucks.. I would totally do that.

No, it's not but both airports have train stations that will take you to the Loop (Midway is closer).

I would say Midway is closer to downtown.. its definitely a shorter public transportation ride. About 30 minute train compared to an hour or so from Ohaare.

But I'm not making promises yet, so don't get your hopes up quite yet

I'm looking at a 207/person for roundtrip flight and 2 nights @ the Marriott Chicago O' Hare

I would be considering going to friday's and saturday's shows.

so far the cheapest I have seen is 200 bucks for my flight and it looks like that Days Inn would be 200 bucks for 2 nights (100 bucks per person if someone split it with me) if I couldn't find a Chicagoan to crash with.

You Canadians remember that the weekend of the 22nd is the weekend before Thanksgiving here, so travel is going to be pretty hectic 'round these parts.

I want to go to the 21-22 so damn bad. Is the whole venue seats or are they going to remove them?

It's all seats, so there wont be any GA.

It also says on the Auditorium Theatre that ticket sets will be sold as well for both dates.

So davin, you too think the Auditorium is better? That's the one I was going to try for.

Here’s an interesting billy article (from TOC’s cultural heroes segment) that may interest Chicagoans, he reveals his current feelings towards the city and its people.

this whole interview really put me off to the point that i don't know if i'm going to go to these shows or not. or really even waste my time with this band anymore.
