On the 10th anniversary, Billy wrote a blog post about Adore, for some reason this joke he made stuck with me:

When is a door not a door?
When it is ajar

When is an album not an album?
When it is Adore

Why did he say this? Does he feel that Adore isn't an album? In my opinion, Adore is the last great thing Billy did.

Well Adore is essentially a Billy Corgan solo album that was recorded with a number of different producers at several different times/locations, right? And then Billy almost gave up on it? It's amazing that it did come together IIRC, let alone that it sounds pretty cohesive and seems to have a pretty clear vision.

also i disagree about adore sounding cohesive. it doesn't. it sounds like a bunch of songs recorded at different locations. which it is

If only it had been a 'striped down' acoustic album with songs like to sheila and blank page and dusty.

And czarina should of been a single. billy started making stupid decisions (music-wise) around this time.

Perhaps it's just because it's so familiar to me, but I do think Adore sounds pretty cohesive. It's not as cohesive as SD, but more cohesive than MCIS... and in terms of theme, mood, and atmosphere, I would say Adore is the most cohesive SP album

I also wouldn't change any of the songs on Adore except MAYBE Annie Dog. Waiting is amazing, but it doesn't fit

while it's true it was a particularly personal album for will, the guy who looks like jeff really did some nice, subtle work on it that makes the songs what they are.

Anyone ever find out why all those discs didn't have cases?

Did the manufacturer print out the discs initially and then only print the cases when needing to ship out more units or something? Seems impractical, but there's gotta be some explanation.
