i was thinking about this aspect of the pumpkins the other day - the sort of dreamy, slightly old world approach that they play with. they have a certain grand, timeless quality to their music that this imagery really picks up on.

yeah, perhaps slightly cringeworthy at first, but then it becomes something that sets them apart from any other band...

This is why I'm proud to be a Pumpkins fan! Take that spineless unimaginative trend whores.

We all want to hold in the everlasting gaze
Enchanted in the rapture of his sentimental sway
But underneath the wheels lie the skulls of every cog
The fickle fascination of an everlasting god

Nobody likes the pumpkins, we should all be emberrased.

When Billy says something really egocentric or just plain dumb, I shrug and laugh. I don't feel embarassed at all, really. I mean, it's Billy Corgan. His reputation precedes him.

i would have to aggreee with todustiguess on how the pumpkins made everything seem like it was a dream world, and i think that poster best represents and sums up everything about their outlook and you can see how they turned to the past in the sound of some of their music like landslide, tonight, or disarm and the artwork on their albums like the sacred heart on the back of gish. todustiguess is absolutly right, their music is timeless and grand.

That video is sooo awful, I can't even listen to the song anymore without thinking of it. And I used to love that song. I always skip it now. I'm gonna burn a copy of Machina with the alternate Try instead.
And Rock On instead of Crying Tree. The S&P SBD Comp version. Yeah.
