The place they were at in toronto was packed and even onto the street. They had to close some of the street off. They were so famous here at that time.

It was the 90s, the "whatever" attitude was cool.

Also, D'arcy razzed billy the entire time and kept him in check. She also helped the communication between james and billy. Moreover, I noticed is that Billy would often look at d'arcy for her approval when he said something. That is a huge fucking deal. I think she was really important, the spirit of the band hasn't been the same since her departure.

Also, I like Kenny too but because matt walker got the seal of approval from jimmy back in 1997 or whatever, the dumb ass jimmy-cock-lickers just think he is unmatched.

Kenny was bad in/for SP. He's even said so himself.

By the way...here's an intersting quote from an interview >>>

Quote:
Who would you say has been the most challenging performer to play behind?

Well, he’s one of them (laughs) and Billy Corgan from the Smashing Pumpkins when I toured with the Pumpkins because he made it difficult for himself and everybody else. He would change the setlist around thirty minutes before the show, purposely, that was his style, and that made it difficult for everybody. The guitar tuners would be scrambling to tune guitars, I had to run around and try to see what these changes were. I mean, it’s cool but he put everybody on edge and when things didn’t go great he got really bummed out and he was setting himself up for things to go wrong. That was what the challenge was. Every night after every show, I would go back to my hotel room and rewrite all the charts and try to relearn everything so that the next time we would play those songs I would play them the way we had just done it, because he’d do things differently every time. That made it very challenging.

And some more quotes:

Quote:
His only regret in joining the band was that he had to miss John Fogerty's tour that coincided with the Pumpkin tour.

He later said, "I knew the Pumpkins' material was a lot different from what I was doing. Yet I could relate to it - it's still rock 'n' roll, it still had the intensity, it had the technique and chops that I wasn't necessarily using as much with these other bands. This was an opportunity to push me technically and I knew it would be a challenge working with a whole group of people. So it was time to grow and move again." Apparently, he had won the part by working with the band on an "unplanned, improvisational number that kept getting better" as rehearsal continued.
Quote:
Rock drummer Kenny Aronoff was also recording material in Los Angeles with Melissa Etheridge, Seal, members of Was (Not Was) and Corey Hart when he was invited by the band to audition in New York. He was told not to prepare, and he did a 35-minute session. Two days later, he was informed that he had successfully attained the position. He was offered " a month of rehearsals and four months of touring all over the world to promote the Pumpkins' new album Adore. In addition, Aronoff said, "In 35 minutes, you can't convince people of a lot, but obviously I did enough," he later admitted.
