haven't been to a fuckin show in forever, i'm always busy when cool acts come around these days. I was just about to buy a ticket to see Jenny Lewis at 9:30 but I realized I committed to baseball game with dad that night. damnit dad.

Deafheaven just announced a summer tour. They're playing Lawrence KS!!!
Last time the hit up the Granada was just like last week but they were just opening for Between the Buried and I didn't want to spend the cash just to see them open. I saw them play at a 150-capacity bar in KCMO last year so I'm really fucking pumped to see them again. |

I missed Deafheaven in December last year because it involved going to London, and I was already going there for Slint that week. I kind of regret it, but it was a really busy week and I don't think I could have got off work half an hour early twice. Now they are only playing festival dates, and I can't attend those either.
I also regret not trying harder to get The Cure tickets at the Royal Albert Hall. I've never seen them, they were one of my favorite bands as a teenager (after SP and Radiohead), they played a 3 and a half hour set, 45 songs, etc. But floor tickets were too expensive, and the cheaper ones sold out in seconds. Also, I got a múm ticket the other day. Should be good. |
