New York sues Trump Foundation, alleging 'extensive' lawbreaking

New York's attorney general announced on Thursday she was suing the Trump Foundation, as well as Donald Trump and his children, alleging "extensive and persistent" lawbreaking.

Barbara Underwood said the charitable foundation had engaged in "unlawful political coordination" designed to influence the 2016 election.

The lawsuit seeks to dissolve the foundation, Ms Underwood said.

The foundation denied the charges, calling them politically motivated.

In a statement, Ms Underwood said Mr Trump had illegally instructed the foundation to provide support to his presidential campaign by using the foundation's name and funds it raised to promote the campaign.

The president hit back at the lawsuit on Twitter, saying that "sleazy New York democrats" were "doing everything they can to sue me". He vowed he would not settle the case.

Just burn it all down.

In Nevada, brothel owner Dennis Hof, the star of a TV show about prostitution and the author of "The Art of the Pimp," blew past a Republican incumbent to win the nomination for a seat in the state legislature. In an interview, Hof said that Trump "blazed the trail" for him.

"He gave me the confidence that I could do this - I could be a reality TV star, an author, and a brothel owner, and then be elected to serve," said Hof. "I want to keep the stuff that the president's got going. The unemployment rate is as low as it's been forever. I don't want sanctuary cities. I want them to build the wall. Let's tighten all that down."

Is this real life? Remember when that black first lady was getting criticized by right-wing media for wearing sleeveless shirts "unbecoming of a first lady?"

Now a billionaire fashion model who usually wears designer threads worth more than most people's cars picks a $60 jacket from a mall store that has a very clear message on it while surveying a humanitarian issue, and the right-wing is claiming that anybody who thinks there's something inappropriate about the message on it are over-sensitive.

Even affording Melania Trump the most charity possible and assuming that the message was not an intentional commentary on the situation, any reasonable person would catch themselves and think, "If I do wear this jacket with this message stating I don't care, most people will assume it is an intentional choice related to the situation at hand, so I will wear a different jacket as to avoid confusion."

So, under the most charitable assumptions about Melania Trump's character, she's incredibly stupid and lacks self-awareness.

But that's me applying the principle of charity over-generously. It'd be disingenuous to think that none of this occurred to her and that it was unintentional.

How is this a real thing that's happening in the real world where real people live? Is this real? Is reality real?
