Default M83 announce new album Junk

Is this a joke?

http://consequenceofsound.net/2016/0...-out-in-april/

"Gonzalez has said that the new album takes inspiration from TV shows of yore “like Punky Brewster and Who’s the Boss. I feel like TV shows are starting to sound and look the same. There’s no more passion anymore. So this album is a tribute to those old-fashioned shows.”"

I like me some M83. Teen Angst, We Own the Sky, Kim and Jessie. And I like this concept. Anyone old enough to remember seeing the Letter People as a kid? That's what the art reminds me of

I love everything I've heard up to and including Hurry Up, We're Dreaming. But this. This is just troublesome.

Same. Looks like he ate the late 80s early 90s and shat the sleeve.

So, first listen and it seems pretty, pretty poor.

I'll listen to it again but it seems like a career low overall, despite a few nice glimmers.

I've heard this album is corny and cheesy and hell. If I'm going to listen to synth pop it has to be sexy like Depeche Mode or Purity Ring or at least dark and moody like Twin Shadow. But nothing like Wham or Pet Shop Boys or New Order or Frankie Goes to Hollywood or any shit like that.

The album is like Wham and the saxophone solo from Baker Street thrown into a blender. I mean I think it's probably the worst album M83 has made but like on artistic level, but fuck it's SO FUN. I enjoy this album in a..."fuck I want to dance" and "this album rules" in an ironic way. Which I never expected from M83. Go!...is...so...good.

Also. Are you a fucking idiot? New Order...cheesy? LOL. The band that wrote Love Vigilantes. Cheesy.

Have you heard the new Com Truise release? He has a new EP called Silicon Tare. That's the proper way to do synth pop. Probably much better than Junk.
