one of the saddest things about SP1 is how they only came up with the live outro to Ruby by the time of the pajama shows in 1996. imagine if that shit was on the studio version. i am rn and its making me mad because live Ruby is the best thing SP1 ever did, but without that fucking INCREDIBLE climax, it's just a tease, knowing what could've been.... aaaaaaahhhHHHHH!!!!

yeah grox good point. first jamez solo, then b0llies solo, and then the power chord climax... mother of satan!

but my fav live ruby has to be the adore stuff, the mellow ruby with phasers on throughout most of the song. so dark and trippy.

Jesus yes

Jimmy's tribal (?) drum solo bits in the song are magic

Both the live outro and the studio outro are some of the best things any band has ever done

tonight has come to hold...us....youngggggg

the swirly guitars in the first verse>>

_____

And to think Billy wasn't going to put this on the album until Jimmy convinced him to

Fucking INCREDIBLE indeed. I think I almost pissed myself out of anger listening to that Italian FM show where the DJs warble over the ending. I was getting into the song, man.

Best live performance is the one at the Melkweg, Amsterdam 1995.

https://archive.org/details/tsp1995-12-12.fm.flac16

Even the saturation of the recording is brilliant (but the source of archive.org has too much of it).

this is a really cool show and an amazing recording. interesting how slow the climax is here and how the ascending octave thing hasn't shown up yet

http://www.starla.org/articles/kerint.htm

I was looking through articles to find it and I found this

Quote:
"D'arcy's sister's boyfriend stole a bunch of our demo tapes from her house and sold them before the record was done. It was a huge soap opera - he sold 'em on the Internet, and it was pretty sophisticated."
is this how the gravity demos came out or something?

lol:

"Like that place in New York?" Jimmy asks, wide-eyed. "Oh , my God. that's about the closest a penis has ever been to my head! This guy just has a jockstrap on and I'm trying to order a drink, and he shuffles down the bar and I look up and I'm like, 'Hell-o!'. Another guy had a fake snake sticking out of his G-string."
