this is the 2nd time in a month I have almost lost my piece, which I have had for many years now. I gotta be more careful! Seriously I was drunk as fuck out on a lake smoking weed and suddenly this enormous wave tossed me out when I was still 15-20 feet from the shore. I landed hard on my hands and knees in 4-5 feet of water and it was black as fuck out. The chances that it literally just hung out in the place it fell into the water all night with the intense waves blows my mind

the lake is like 700 feet deep or something at the center, but where I fell was too shallow for there to be any kind of calm below the surf. I fell on my hands and knees and when the water rushed out it was elbow deep but when it roared back in with each wave, it was probably 4 feet of water. Doesn't matter. It was very rough and the chances of the piece just staying in the vicinity it fell in was remarkably small

If OC: never bother begging people who aren't very invested in you (only went out with once, just met, etc.) to spend time with you or interact with you, even if you are totally sure you'd get along if they just got to know you. You could be 100% correct, but when they interact with you again, it'll be out of obligation or pity, and then they'll just ghost you again shortly after.

It's hard to do, I know. But just forget them, even if they are really cool people, and move on to the next one.

I've got the same problem. I don't tend to blow up anyone's phone, but I definitely have the urge to. I'm very needy. I'd be doing the exact same shit if I didn't bind my hands to prevent myself from indulging. These days, I send a text, and if there's no response, I leave it alone. If I genuinely think she's busy and not intentionally ghosting, I send a follow-up text, but that's it.

The times I sent the long-winded cringey texts were when that girl who used me in her art ghosted me, and when they friend kept on being really flakey in a way that felt dismissive and disrespectful. Now, even if I think that asking for acknowledgement is totally justified, I avoid doing so, because pragmatically, just letting it me saves more of your dignity.

Like, that one girl who asked me out, buttered me up about how she'd been pining for me and waiting for this moment forever, only to pump and dump me— I feel that is rude as fuck, but I don't want to send any more than the follow-up text and hang-up request that I subsequently sent her. Oh sorry, I was responding to DK. He hung out with a woman for awhile who (IIRC) pretended to be his friend, ghosted him, and then later used his images in her instagram art.
