Places to meet in Paris, 22 May

Hey,

There's a group of us who have organised places to meet in Paris before and after the show. So if you're travelling from afar, this is the perfect opportunity to meet others who've done the same. Most of us are coming from the UK, but there's some from Germany, Spain, even the States who I know will be joining us.

I know some of you will want to wait outside the venue in hopes of meeting the band. Having a lot of experience doing that, bands generally pull in for sound check at 3pm give or take an hour.

That still leaves you plenty of time before the show to come have a few drinks with us.

5:15pm until Rex Doors open:
Le Coeur Fou
55 rue Montmartre
Metro: Sentier

This is a 5-10 minute walk from the venue. A bar for young crowd and serves cocktails. I’m told they don’t take cards, so please bring cash for drinks.

Anytime after the show (open til 4am)
Le Truskel
10-12 rue Feydeau
This is a pub/club that plays rock and indie music. It's even closer to the venue than Le Coeur Fou.

Just look for the people wearing Smashing Pumpkins shirts, or listen for the group speaking english.

Check on google maps and familiarize yourself with the area. It's all very close together, so shouldn't be too hard to find these places.

Oh yeah, and if the bars suck, don't blame me! It's hard to choose places you've never been to before!

BTW, is anyone from the UK headed to Paris on the 10:10 Eurostar train? I'm coming from the US, but I'm spending a couple days in London beforehand.

Are you going to be in London on the saturday? We're having a geeky smashing pumpkins fan meet up at the Dublin Castle on Parkway, Camden Town from 15:00 onwards.

I also remember, like a couple weeks later I was stood in a queue at a club and I thought I saw you and kept yelling your name(I can't remember it now,sorry!) and you wouldn't turn and then finally they turned and said "Look, that's not his name!" and totally wasnt you.

seriously though, on the subject of this thread....i'm open for whatever. nothing is set in stone but i will definitely be hanging with my generous hosts and then going wherever the night takes me. i will be a man with a backpack -- so i'll be quite flexible, as long as i'm back to CDG the next morning by 8:30am.

you could always put your bag in a lockup in one of the train stations, or CDG itself?
