Tame Impala making a bad disco / r&b album after two great acid rock albums
They really lost me with the third album. It's cheesy synth pop / disco / and R&b mixed together. All the worst stuff from The 80s. The first two records are like the best Beatles plagiarism I've ever heard. And some of the best 60s pastiche I've ever heard too.
And it occurred to me that the dandy warhols did something similar. They put out a great classic rock sounding album with some strong acid rock influences and then the next album was cheesy 80s sounding stuff that I only liked as a guilty pleasure. |

Anyone actually actively listen to any of these bands that this guy talks about?
I mean I hear some through passing and think "this sucks" Like is there seriously people out there seriously devoted to Tame Impala? What a stupid band name.. "MAN, MY IMPALAS FUCKING JUICED UP! YER SHITS TAME" |

Fuzzy word of advice: Any band that names themselves after a car/truck or a car/truck band is automatically lame
