i'm cooking down a rum (malibu) and coke for candy and it smells like coconutty heaven in the house. mmmmmm

i'm watching a furry-fest of dogs. it's some kid's show and much craziness.
Des isn't watching, I should just turn it off. but the train wreck of it all...

the candy didn't turn out too great. just candy, only a hit of coke and rum flavor. i guess that's because coke is caramel flavor to begin with. ah well. back to the drawing board!

it's for a malibu themed cake. the girl likes rum and coke. so coke it is!
rootbeer surely would come through better in candy form though

yeah all the rootbeer candy I've had doesn't really end up tasting like rootbeer... you know those little rootbeer barrel candies? anyway, they taste enough like coke that she wouldnt really notice if there was enough malibu with it?

the malibu flavor really didn't come through either - and with the amount i used to get the amount of candy i got, it's not worth persuing any further i think.

ah well. the cake i made yesterday was pretty awesome in flavour though, so i'm still hopeful for the theme!
now i just need to focus on making a malibu bottle and some shot glasses.

I went out to a bar on Friday night with some friends and there were Malibu girls there handing out free shooters and beads and feather masks. I guess I got pretty drunk because I ended up with 5 Malibu shot glasses, 5 Malibu beads, and a Malibu feather mask. I actually wore the mask most of the night because people were looking at me weird and it amused me.

Anyway if I would have known about your cake I would have mailed you all this stuff before your friends birthday
