At the very least you gotta have a bagged salad with a frozen pizza and even then, it's more for appearance.

Can also just put together a sandwich with whatever leftovers you have in the fridge.
Leftover turkey sandwiches are usually pretty great |

the sauce was for already cooked pulled pork. and we only added it to some of the meat and can do whatever with the rest and there is plenty of leftover sauce. most things we buy/make rollover into other meals so there's never waste. enjoy frozen raviolis.

ever since I started in my most recent kitchen I've got some new passion for making more complicated stuff, usually on the stove and not in a slowcooker. Doing a lot of marinated tofu lately since its so cheap for a protein |

it's just an additional treat that comes along with the meal. i love roasted garlic, too, but only eat it whole when i need some in a recipe and i'll add more just for eating. i eat an entire onion after adding 2 halves to homemade spaghetti sauce.
in what do you marinate your tofu? |

still kind of experimenting with it, but currently soy sauce, ginger, lemon juice / zest, garlic, serrano pepper, sesame oil....i want it to be less salty, though. gonna have to reduce the soy sauce |

You can add 1 or 2 spoons of sugar to cut the salt a bit, a bunch of asian recipes do that.

try brown sugar. it's "melts" better in sauces and tastes better in savory things.

lol at people using words like "simmer," "cut," "sear," in this slobs only thread
Here's some more legit EZ suggestions from someone who 1) wants to be doing other things than cooking no matter what 2) whose primary problem is to resolve hunger sensations as quickly as possible so life can move on 1) bowl of cereal. There are so many kickass cereals. And you can mix them. Try frosty mini wheats w/some raisin bran if u want somethin sweet that will also clear out the ole pooper 2) raw vegetables (carrots, celery, even broccoli), some pretzels, dipped into some decent store bought hummus. Extra points: quickly microwave a pita bread and tear pieces of it off to eat it on the side with some kalamata olives 3) PBJ: try different exotic jellies! You won't get bored that way 4) bag of popcorn and glass of OJ 5) a digionro oven pizza, while more $$$, can actually be refrigerated and come tasty out the microwave for a couple days |

I'll probs make this tonight, because it's so easy. You can chuck all the veggies in the food processor to chop it up, and because they're not greasy, you can just rinse it out and leave it to dry in the dish rack. Then a few hours later, dinner. I'll probably dump a bag of baby spinach in at the end.
The kids aren't huge fans of soup dinners, but I just make them a grilled cheese to go with it and then they're happy. |

The only semi-fancy thing I do is create my own spice rubs. 3 things I couldn't live without: coconut milk, curry, chili powder.

i only have unhealthy shits when i stray from my regular diet.
i also tend to eat the same things every day with subtle variations. been reading steinbecks "sweet thursday" (the sequel to cannery row) and there's a chapter where a character meets a sage in the woods and he describes an amazingly simple diet based on hand-gathered seafood (all protein) with some bread and lemon (for starch and acid because his body craves it). he also steals candy bars and feels bad about it. my mind is still blown. |

slowcookers are nice if you dont mind waiting 6-8 hours for food. if you want food fast get an electric pressure cooker. you'll have pulled pork in an hour.

we have transcended through time and space, through fields of tacos and been baptized in forbidden lakes made of salsa and guacamole. we are e-machines reborn as human flesh.
