i pretty much put people who say soccer is boring with people who deny the holocaust, you know, totally and unequivocally wrong.
and it's funny how it's almost always huge baseball fans that spout piffle like this. |

the only criticism i have of soccer is the seeming tendency for players to exaggerate their on-field injuries. rolling around or lying down on the field for a seeming unreasonable amount of time.
is that so they can sneak in some rest? babies. |

Next week I'm driving to the ass end of Ohio to watch the Timbers destroy Colubus Crew because i'm a horrible liberal. And next month I'm flying to portland to watch Timbers v Vancouver because i'm a horrible person who believes in participation trophies for all children

soccer is so popular because all you need is a dang ball and yourself. it makes sense that those who can't afford stupid equipment would gravitate towards the game. i wouldn't credit millenials are whatever for why "america is liking soccer so much"

The Ann Arbor match has become an annual thing and they bring in two different teams from the EU each year. Every soccer fan i know here adopts a champion's league team and an MLS team. So people know these teams very well.
We don't have a Major League Soccer team in Michigan yet, but we have an entire new division worth of clubs in a minor league. Our club here in my home town is 2 years old and we're getting 8,000 people at matches. Ours and the club we play in Detroit were both started by supporter groups who were sick of waiting for someone to start a club so we did it ourselves. |
