Default anyone here have the means to convert cassettes to mp3/digital?

I like this band and they release a lot of annoying, limited run cassettes. I want to get in on it but I'm not in the know on how to convert. The only cassette player I have is in my car.

Would anyone be able to have me send a cassette to them and they rip/upload it? I forget who did the vinyl rips for me a couple years ago...

go on ebay and search nakamachi and get a real good tape deck and then we can work from there

if you're buying the tapes you might as well have a good deck

The band is Airs and they release super-limited cassette releases. Their bandcamp only has their "official releases" but I really like them and I don't even think they're blogular enough to have someone ripping their obscure stuff.

I'd rip the cassette for you but I'm afraid of losing it or I'm afraid of breaking it somehow, I would help if I could tho. My cassette player isn't even that good anyways. (It's an old thing...)

the deck i use to rip tapes is a sony portable w/ on-board mics and a speed control knob for $25 at kmart.

last time i was at half-price books there were selling hype brand cassette to usb decks for only $20.

this is easier than most ppl make it out to be.

why would you take it back a step in the chain you're only going to dirty the rip. the tape has already been mixed and mastered.

What exactly are you asking me here?

I'm simply using the Tascam as a normal play-back deck, with the outs going into the ins of my computer. If there were balance or EQ or tape-speed problems initially, they can easily be fixed. Or I could just simply play it back like an ordinary deck.

As a person who is looking high and low for Tascam cassette portastudios, you are one lucky guy. I'm also looking for a Fostex 250, no luck tho.
