Seconding everyone else. Anything new is probably going to be bad/depressing. Only good thing to happen would be old content getting released. Zwan demos, last Metro show, Machina stuff, more leaks, more shows from the soundboard archive, full double door shows, full brixton show, etc

The Machina reissue is literally the only thing that interests me at this point.

For Billy to announce the release of an album. I just want new music.

Even if it is not as good as the stuff from the nineties Zeitgeist, Monuments and Oceania are still up there with the best albums in my collection from the past 10 years or so.

They are not as appreciated because they don't match up to Gish, SD and MCIS but they are still better then most of the other rubbish that comes out these days.

I am starved of good new music. There is a good new music drought at the moment.

out of curiosity, what other artists/albums are in your best-of-collection of the past 10 years?

It's not gonna be Zwan. That should be obvious.

It's not gonna be Machina. It wasn't a hit then, it won't be a hit now. You don't run a big ad campaign for a re-release of an album no one liked even then.

It'll be tour dates, and perhaps a link to download the new song. I'd be disappointed if there was no new song. It won't be an album as there is no album.

My dream announcement would be: you open the site and four images are revealed one by one - BC, then JC, then JI... then D'arcy. She's back! They worked it out!

I'd be happy if he just released the Machina reissue and called it quits. Metro DVD, etc. would be nice bonuses.

Alternatively, I'd be happy if they revealed that this debacle was just a PR stunt, and that all the original members are on board and in good spirits for the upcoming tour. Ha.

not sure if this will lead to a record for the time being, but if things go well we might do a few small, intimate shows in small venues around here and get a feel for things. so keep your ears open."
I agree, this would be cool. On the other hand, if they made this announcement, jammed a bit, but it didn't work out, we'd probably get the same thing we're getting right now. So I'd prefer an announcement of "we're doing a few small intimate shows." Aside: I'd want new music to be debuted at those shows, just as always. That's how most Pumpkins music got debuted, not via the studio!

As a member of the "I don't really care that much who's in the band (although having Jimmy is preferable), as long as the shows are good" camp, I'd be happy with another "In Plainsong" type tour announcement. I thought things were turning a corner with those style of shows. It seemed like BC had chilled out a bit, and people seemed to enjoy the show I attended. I know I did! It seems like BC shoots for arena tours every few years. I get what he's trying to do, but I wish he'd stop. The Pumpkins have been a theater-size band (at least in the USA) since 2000. It works! Keep doing that, and release the Machine re-issue!

I want a no-holds barred tag-team title match with D'arcy and her pet horse in one corner and Billy and Linda Strawberry in another, with James as special guest referee and Jimmy on commentary. Jeff can be standing around outside the ring doing nothing in particular as usual.

Did anyone here say they wanted a tour called “Shiny and Oh So Bright”? If so, have I got news for you.
