general election: Clinton 51%, Trump 39%, Johnson 8%, Stein 2%

electoral college: Clinton 340, Trump 163, Johnson 0, Stein 0

if we see early on election night that Georgia is called for Clinton it be an indicator of Clinton getting closer to 400 electoral votes. It would mean that conservative voter turnout is low and other states like Iowa and Nevada could go to Clinton.

My thoughts on states:

I think Florida is the state to watch. If Clinton takes FL, Trump's paths to victory are all but blocked right there. He would have to win pretty much every other competitive state which is not likely. If Trump wins FL, that could spell trouble because it might indicate the non-white vote is not as motivated and mobilized as Clinton needs.

If Georgia goes to Clinton early, I think that would indicate a total rout in battleground states although this is not a likely scenario.

Ohio will go to Trump despite it almost always going to the winner historically. Clinton will win without Ohio.

me too. I mean I'll cut me, not you.

but if he loses FL that could be the wrap up right there. If Clinton gets FL, Trump has to win a slew of other battleground states to pass 270. Assuming both of them keep their slightly paler than dark red/blue states in the bag (Clinton gets PA, Trump gets AZ, etc), and then assuming Trump takes Nevada, NC, Iowa, Ohio, and the 1 vote from Maine, he is still only at 266. So on top of that, which is already very unlikely, he would have to take either Virginia, Colorado, or Wisconsin to head to the White House. Them's some long odds.

Little known fact: the Constitution says that if this happens, the candidates get handcuffed together and must hold office together, only to be separated at the end of their term.

I had a dream last night that Trump won the election and civil unrest erupted across the US. Riots spread like wildfire in all major American cities, the FBI were arresting people weekly on suspicion of assassination plots. It got to the point where he was traveling in total secrecy because he couldn't go outside without violent protest erupting. By Christmas he announced he was declining to take the oath of office which set off a Constitutional crisis. His people claimed that because the Constitution does not specifically say the POTUS must take the oath to become president, just that he has to be elected, that as president-elect, Trump's "resignation" automatically passes the baton to Pence who is then eligible to serve Trump's whole first term and then run for re-election. However, the Constitution does say that if the POTUS doesn't take his oath, he is unable to execute his office, so the whole thing got thrown into the Supreme Court which came down with a split 4-4 decision on whether Pence could serve or a new election had to be called. For the first time in American history, the foundational law of the land failed to maintain the non-violent transfer of power and everything descended into chaos.
