Default Jackie Blue is the #74 cover song

Um, I guess it's not all that interesting, but in the NY Post they listed the top 100 cover songs, probably picked some lame editor, so it certainly doesn't matter for shit. But the Pumpkins have done soo many awesome covers, I figured they deserved at least one spot. And it was Jackie Blue. I'd have picked A Girl Named Sandoz. Now 'xcuse me while i drop some acid.

i like that under pressure cover, but then i just love that song.

i haven't heard the orig. sandoz either [or dancing in the moonlight. haven't felt like investigating thin lizzy, don't much care for the guy's vocals]. jackie i have..i like sp's version better

The original Sandoz isn't. Which is what Liffey was asking for.

the original dancing in the moonlight is great, and having heard the original makes the sp version all the more sad and poignant. you should check it out, its got a kind of van morrison vibe to it.

Not 'The Shining Path', but a live 'W.P.' clip.

Back in the days, SP always did kickass covers. I have listened to every original of every SP cover song, and on a good portion of them I actually like SP's rollicking versions better. (One of the exceptions might be "Girl Named Sandoz"...as although I like the SP cover, I am actually a pretty big Animals fan and enjoy the orginal version more.)

Honestly, my opinion on this is probably due to the fact that I listen to many of the same bands that Billy cited as big influences in his teens and early adulthood. I enjoy classic hard rock, 60's psychedelia, some 60's pop, early 80's goth/new wave/industrial, and metal, most of all. (Then I like some weirder shit like rockabilly and Ventures-style surf music in smaller doses. Yes, I think "Bullet Train to Osaka" is KICKASS, BTW.) Aside from contemporary metal, the wave of early 90's hard alternative rock (Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Jane's Addiction, etc.) was probably the last time I gave two shits about most of the mainstream.

P.S. I'm not an old fart. I just listened to my parents' records early and often.
