pretty much, just check any sacred + profane concert footage and he throws that stuff in. he does it in the TEG video too of course, as has been pointed out. i always figured it - in corgan's mind - tied into the "glass" persona but who the fuck knows? just give the man a freaking guitar!

I sincerely enjoyed the video from the start actually. The the themes set up of time in motion, disconnect, and memory are all very clear and present throughout. The strange bits like the flame-like wing flareups on the girl's back are a welcome addition. It's almost like some stuff you'd see in a Tool video, just prettier. Definitely makes me like the song more. It's a clear case of victory for the old artform of making music videos in the first place IMO.

Sorry if someone said this already - I'm too lazy to read all the posts - but does this video not blatantly rip off the Rhinoceros vid? Faces coming out of water, dark lit close up of Billy during singing, swirling black and white image to start off, full band jam footage replaced with Jeff... seems like a statement.

The good:
cool visuals, awesome song, Billy embracing his ageing (at least in his face)

The bad:
high school project worthy lip sync, that lame fucking hoodie (which completely contradicts his embracing his ageing - looks like he borrowed it from a 12 year old)

Edit: confused the faces in water with the Siva vid. Still seems to appropriate the Gish era video imagery

Nifty video even if it did seem a tad too much like a naked-er version of Disarm / Siva / Rhinocerous but the abstract images kinda clicked and Corgan's "performance" did seem a bit more impassioned than most of his recent just-standing-there video output. Only less than a dozen shots of Jeff thrown in kinda seem like an afterthought, though. But I think it works well if only because the cuts in the video are fairly in tempo with the music, which does give a sense of momentum even if the imagery really doesn't seem to mean anything with the song.
