He was great in Priscilla.

Last night I watched this

I think imdb's 5.1 rating was pretty fitting.

watching always sunny right now, i love how their non pc humor only serves to underscore what godawful people the gang are instead of seeming cheap gags at someones expense

i love how they all consider themselves not to be racist and still are

Damon Albarn makes everything better. You can't go wrong with him.

Just watched Empire Records for the first time yesterday

I've heard a lot of good reviews about it but I was kinda disappointed... It's kind of just like a 90's version of the Breakfast Club. It was great for some 90's music store nostalgia though, and Renne Zelwigger was smoking hot when she was younger.

I give this movie a 6.5/10

you lot should watch Ordinary Decent Criminal as well, D. Albarn on the soundtrack (with one of my favorites songs of his practically ever) & K. Space on the lead acting

Haha yeah it was actually pretty lame aside from some of the nostalgic charm. 6.5 is a little too generous I think. I'd give it more like a 5.

What's weird was that I was browsing thru movies on demand and this one got like an 89% score from the audience reviews. Usually a high audience rating is at least indicative that''ll be pretty entertaining.

I figured this would be right up my alley, but it's like they made it to be so stereotypically 90's... Some of it was good, some of it laughingly bad(which is kind of fun in it's on right I guess)

Is that tag line not meant to be ironic and self-mocking? What's not to like about poking fun at how SERIOUS everything was in the 90s.

Remember Party of Five? Yeah. We went there, in the 90s. One of the decades had to...and it was ours.

Yeah the tag-line isn't meant to be ironic at all.

A major part of the plot line is that the owner of the "legendary, long lasting indie music shop" is about to turn it into a big-box retailer... Pretty much like one of those old Virgin mega stores or whatever and the kids and somewhat the manager decide to revolt against that... I.E. Not selling out.

The way the music store is portrayed in the film does seem like a dream place to work at.

I always figured I'd work at a music store as a kid... And then I become a teenager and adult and there isn't such a thing left around anymore... Story of my life.

I love how the guy 2nd from the right is dressed exactly like Kurt Cobain i n the poster and all throughout the movie: Has the exact same wool sweater that Cobain would always wear and had on during 94 unplugged, has the faded, ripped blue jeans with the pajama pant things underneath sticking out of the rips.

Music stores are a total rarity. And they're mostly small shops that are self-owned with like 1 or 2 employees total... Good luck getting in at a place like that.

Just my kinda people. I went to some after party with a bunch of hipsters people a few weeks back. They had a wicked party place and we all bought some blow and they knew a bar tender that would sell us offsales it was pretty sweet.

The stories absolutely true, but I may have stressed the hipster stereotype to annoy trots so I guess that could be perceived as trolling- but he was the one who brought it up in a ridiculing matter. But the truth was, they kinda were.
