This may be due to the fact that I've been too long for every bath I've ever been in. I'm pretty sure taking baths is illegal in California anyway

I used to love having a bath after a long run. It was nice to wash myself without having to stand up.

But I'd have to rinse off afterwards. At least with a shower you wash and rinse all in the same process.

when i was in Japan i went to a sento, which is a public bathhouse. it was right next to my Airbnb apt, so i was like 'cool why not'.

they wouldn't let me in, until i figured out a way to tell them i have no tattoos, and then they acceded. it's fully nude in there, so i was expecting Jap guys to at least sneak a peek at my dirty foreigner junk. i mean i'm used to stares and shit from Chinese people. but nobody even glanced at me. the respect and politeness of the Japanese as people is unparalleled.

i guess the water there were just as filthy as in any Tepid Baths franchise (or maybe not cause it's a real thing in Japan - they also have Onsens which are filled with spring water. that sounds nice) but right after the scalding hot water i jumped into a small pool of ice water. it's a strange feeling being poached like a potato. but i liked it.

cold showers are my favorite after a run, but i hardly run anymore. by the time i get home from the gym, i'm not all heated and i just want a normal warm shower.

i did buy a weighted hula hoop on amazon the other day (those acrobats really inspired me and i know i love to hula hoop) that's gonna make me look like a stripper.
