He should open the show with God And Country and then follow it with The Imploding Voice... You know, just for laughs.

I'd like to see Billy open like this:

"Stoppen throwen zee cuppenz. Danka."

Then lead into Winterlong > Soothe > Crying Tree of Mercury

"Good night Germany!"

Then leave.

...if it isn't broadcasted. If it is, then lots of rock please.

follow the Moskva
Down to Gorky Park
Listening to the wind of change
An August summer night
Soldiers passing by
Listening to the wind of change

The world closing in
Did you ever think
That we could be so close, like brothers
The future's in the air
I can feel it everywhere
Blowing with the wind of change

Chorus:
Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
In the wind of change

Walking down the street
Distant memories
Are buried in the past forever

I follow the Moskva
Down to Gorky Park
Listening to the wind of change

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams
With you and me

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
In the wind of change

The wind of change blows straight
Into the face of time
Like a stormwind that will ring
The freedom bell for peace of mind
Let your balalaika sing
What my guitar wants to say

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams
With you and me

Take me to the magic of the moment
On a glory night
Where the children of tomorrow dream away
In the wind of change

I love this song....
I think if they played this it would be awesome, i don't think many people here on netphoria would agree with me, but I don't care, I'd love it...

APPARENTLY NOT ONLY THE BROADCAST, BUT THE WHOLE SHOW *WAS* IN QUESTION ACCORDING TO THAT:

Bis eben unsicher, jetzt ist es raus: Die Smashing Pumpkins spielen! Macht euch gefasst auf den fettesten Auftritt des Jahres! Einschalten, um 22.30h geht's los!
BUT THEY ARE IN FACT PLAYING AND THE BROADCAST WILL HAPPEN.

I wonder if Billy will do a Nazi themed thing like the leaked photos and the Warner Bros. promo video while on stage? That would be sweet.

Erm... I think you're misinterpreting that. It rather sounds like MTV being happy about being able to show it.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN BOYS GIRLS.... THIS NEXT SONG IS THE BEST SONG IN THE WHOLE WORLD"

Oh man I fucking hate this guy more and more. And the more anxious I get about waiting for SP, the more that hate boils.

Hoping for a little suprise since this is being broadcast around the world. Although only the really hardcore folks have heard/seen other performances, So billy most likely won't throw anything new in.
