Said Sadly is really clever because it doesn’t have any obvious chorus yet it’s hooky and catchy as hell. It’s just verses upon verses like a theme and variations. Kind of like....”Stay” by Lisa Loeb!

The Bells is underrated by you plebes. Would have fit better at the end of Dawn to Dusk than Take Me Down, though I guess Take Me Down serves a thematic purpose.

The Boy, ...Said Sadly, and Go are the only Iha Pumpkins songs I'd consider top-tier; maybe an honorable mention to Believe.
I do not particularly like or dislike Take Me Down on its own, but as someone else said, it serves the purpose of capping off the first part of the album before the plunge into some of the heavier songs on Mellon Collie. As much as Billy came off like an asshole in the MCIS liner notes ragging on James and that song, I actually agree with what he said. It always feels incomplete to me. |
