Which Zwan had but didn't utilise. Matt Sweeney and David Pajo looked the part and had a decent alt-rock vocal style. Corgan should've played backing more, wrote the songs and let them represent the band more with production, lead vocals etc. Instead it was Billy Corgan & These Guys Who Will Do As I Say.

All the things Billy has been complaining about recently means that there's more twerps running amok on Netphoria regurgitating what he's saying, demanding that music has been shit for the last decade or so, amongst other bouts of aimless ranting. It's the last thing I'd have expected.

Billy really turns people off with what he says and does. If he wants the masses he should do some more positive stuff for publicity.

Also his music should match his persona. It use to. Things synced up. But ge holds back the true billy in music.

I like mtae but I think he promoted it poorly.

Billy is no longer culturally relevant and lacks the self-awareness to regain relevance, even though that's what he wants is to be a rockstar. He's made so many wrong moves from 2003-onward and alienated so much of his fanbase that the damage is irreparable. An MCIS 2 or SD 2 could potentially recapture that base but he's too stubborn, if he even has the ability, to play to his strengths.

-2003: breaks up Zwan, still sitting on best material
-2005: announces reformation of SP, never delivers
-2007: "resurrects" the band in name only, makes mediocre/shit record
-2008: berates fans, makes homophobic comments, and plays 10 minute covers of Pink Floyd on timpani, bitches about cultural irrelevance and lack of cashflow
-2009 (?): starts releasing shittiest streak of music in his career, loses JC
-2010 (?): hires incompetent child drummer
-2014: forgets how to write lyrics

and throughout all of this makes outlandish claims, such as being able to make SD 2 but choosing not to

I shouldn't have read any of these but I was into monuments for like a whole week and even indulging visions of "maybe he'll pull it off with day for night!"

Man...as much as I'd love for bill to win in his storyline again and for it all to make some kind of sense, it's getting too fucken sad2watch. Worse, it's impossible to sympathize with where he's coming from, which begins to ruin the music for me.

I actually really like MSOTS, but I agree that the unreleased stuff is far, far better. I said at the time of the SP reunion announcement, and I maintain, I'd rather see a Zwan reunion than an SP reunion. Zwan has so much unfinished business, and really seemed like it had more potential - Billy was freed up (musically and conceptually) in a way he can't really be with SP.
