thanks slunken. i originally was using a washcloth but it didnt seem to work well and i switched to gauze which yeah probably made the process much worse fpr her and made me draw it out more... thanks for the advice. her eyes were much cleaned but if she's going to be miserable fuck it they don't need to be that clean.

i think in the next couple days she might be back to normal and i'll try the washcloth thing. thanks! very helpful

if their eyes get bad enough they will crave your relief. but also on my end it was a mom cat that just had kittens (not immediately mind you but within that month) so it was fairly compliant - nonetheless it was still a sketched out stray.

so as most of you know thanks to eulogy i live with my parents at the moment and they have this GORGEOUS cat named sophie that's all black but for a white chin and bib with white paws and somehow i've managed to become her BOY i'm not sure why but she prefers me, spends most of the day with me if she's not outside and is currently sitting in my lap, happy as a clam.

there's something about earning a cat's love that's more rewarding than a dog's because as you all know i'm a dog owner some 10 years now but with cats they really PICK you.

and this cat is amazing, i call her the mila jovovich of the cat world, she's not only a supermodel but an action star. total huntress. love this cat, don't want to give her up :#

okay so

the vet did some tests and she has some corneal ulcerations. this may or may not be chronic. she also yet again showed positive for not making sufficient tears

he gave me an antibotic, topical pain reliever and something that encourages tear production.

he said it is imperative that i give her these drops no matter what i have to do.

i just took the frame off my bed and put the box spring on the floor. she is now unable to hide under it.

this is necessary to prevent permanent blindness.

i have an appointment next week and depending on the results of these three eye medicines we will be going to an eye specialist to talk about surgical possibilities.

i feel better that i talked to the vet. visit did cost almost $300 which is a lot for anyone... but im glad i have it... so much for paying my mom back for my car repairs this month. meh

Sorry you have to go through these challenges. When we got Pixel she had a myriad of problems and didn't like us putting medicine in her eyes, ears, and other places. Once well though she began showing love quickly.

atropine makes her drool. it is quite disconcerting but it's harmless. it's apparently because a little gets in her mouth and it's a response to the bitter taste.

it's more like foaming at the mouth than drooling, i guess. it's a big ole wad of spit. like a human amount. usually 4-5 clean ups before she's done
