so i'd been on crutches basically since i returned to m'laysia, and was more or less confined to the reception floor at my job (where i live) due to a number of reasons. most rooted in the fact that i couldn't walk. i started hating my job and wanted out and kinda mentally checked out when i found out i needed an operation.
about a week after my operation- worst post op ever. top surgery has nothing on this- i had an exchange with my boss and we agreed to go separate ways. incidentally this means i lost my job and my home in the same swoop. i've been staying on my friend's couch since my job is no place to convalesce, and i can't make it up the stairs, but knpw it can't be long-term. so basically i'm homeless, jobless, and can't walk. like really can't walk. not even hobble or put weight on it at all. they put pins in my ankle. there's absolutely nothing i can do until i heal up. it'll take a month. since i wasn't able to do much for the past month or so, i saved up a bit and it's the low season so i found a villa in northern thailand for next to nothing. have it for a month. flight was about $35. leave in the morning. have an island jungle retreat gig in borneo lined up when i can walk again. until then, it's painting and books and meditating and rice paddies. yeehaw. |

I really hope you keep a regular journal, either paper or as a doc on Google drive because I would read the shit out of a memoir of yours.

i'm interested the financial logistics of all this. what would i have to give up to live this lifestyle?
because yeah, even though your basically non-ambulatory at the moment, it sounds like you're living the life. |

a lot. if i wrote my memoirs, i'd have a full chapter dedicated to the hidden sacrifices that come with living like this. but it's all about personal choice and perspective and what you consider sacrifice. i'm incredibly happy with my lifestyle.
honestly things were pretty grim a week ago, but when you have no options, a million other ones open up that you never expected. financially the villa is costing me $200 for the month. my flight up was $35. living here is much cheaper than m'laysia. ''running home'' back to the states would've been about $1k+ |

Idk, I remember him getting into an argument with Bonnie the last few times he posted. That's all.

Ahhh ok. It's weird I mean that doesn't really tell me whether he is alive or doing well, but somehow it's still better than knowing for sure that he is dead.

There should be a netphorian role of honour for all the fallen posters.
Like that one guy from Wellington. Anyone else? |

They said he could be anything. So he became an ex-Netphorian.

I just framed a painting, the title of which is "Homeless, Jobless, and Free"
I did a double take. Is the Netphorian universe bleeding into the IRL universe? All the universes are collapsing into one another |
