Billy Howerdel really shot his wad with mer de noms huh
And I say this as someone who likes thirteenth step and the ashes divide album.
There are things I like about the new APC but I’ll probably never listen to it again and I’d be embarrassed to tell other people about it. Maynard’s lyrics are embarrassing too. Yeesh. |

I prefer Thirteenth Step to Mer De Noms, so I'm actually looking forward to hearing them push things further in a less hard rock-driven direction. I've seen a lot of negative stuff from people going "it sounds too much like Depeche Mode or Bowie" and I'm like "Hell yeah!"

Don't get me wrong, Mer De Noms is a classic, but it left a lot of room for growth.
I think I liked that Ashes Divide album for a month or so after it came out. |

Also when we saw them in November it was probably the most disappointed I’ve ever been with a show

I gotta say, I've listened to this a couple of times now and am vibing hard on it.
Eulogy, I implore you to give it more than one listen (assuming you haven't already). |

I don't think it's a stone-cold classic or anything, but there's some stuff on here that stirs up the sediment sitting at the bottom of my soul/gut.
Makes throwaway tracks like Get The Lead Out all the more bearable. |

You shouldn't put too much stock into what I have to say, though. I am, after all, one of the four people who actually enjoyed Refused's comeback album.

There's some really likeable tracks on this. If Feathers had been on MDN it wouldn't feel out of place IMO.
Decent album but the tracklist is botched all to hell. Zero flow. |

Should have made it an EP and left off the fillers.

I listened to the two singles and I can't even be fucked with the album. Pity, MDN is a pretty sick album.

This record sounds like Billy's demos from another Ashes Divide album meets Maynard's demos for new Puscifer songs. Clunky fake VST plugin keys, mixed with odd lyrics and a goofy ass album cover. Still trying to let it grow on me but let's be honest here, the quality of anything Maynard is/was involved with turned to complete shiite after he decided to "go political". I mean look at this disaster of a music video he did for "The Arsonist". Song sucks, video sucks no matter what side of the political spectrum you're on. 2015 Maynard 2013 Maynard (pretty big difference here in my opinion as this song is actually good) Huge fan of APC's first 2 albums, Emotive was OK. Ashes Divide also a good album, Billy is quite talented. I saw Maynard most recently during the Conditions of my Parole tour and it was actually a damn good show! |

I'm not so sure that's the case. Between the two of you there's nearly half the amount of replies to me as my post count is thus far.
Give me time gentlemen, I'll see if I can pull off any sick burns against your parents to get my post count higher. 3eb sucks whether I'm an amish rake fighter here or not though. Jars of Clay is where it's at, everyone knows it. |
