Wow. This looks homemade.

$98 to ship to Australia.

I’m done.

Vinyl makes sense, most anyone caring about music in 2023 owns a vinyl player. Absolutely no one can play a CD. People wanted to have access to the music as high resolution digital files, not on a decades defunct medium.

Wish they’d dropped all the cd’s at once so I could save on shipping, but this will do.

At last, sense prevails!

I’m one of the lucky 500.

Also any serious music listener has a CD player. I still have hundreds of CDs.

Didn’t realise there were only 500. Half expect them to show up at merch stands on the upcoming tour. But I’m absolutely jumping on these, even with crazy postage.

I have over 2,000 CD’s and I still use them. I have a cd player in my car, about twenty different discmans of various brands that I still use for personal listening with headphones, and a home stereo with a cd player. I have lots of early pressings and rare stuff that simply isn’t available on streaming.

I always have a CD in my car in the event I don't feel like taking 5 minutes to fuckin' connect via Bluetooth, open Spotify, get to whatever it is I'm tryna listen to, etc etc

I'm sure newer models either have an autoconnect feature or even Spotify built in to the stereo system, but that ain't currently the case for me

Just when I was getting slightly excited for this archive project for the first time since it started, I saw that shipping price... and I disappeared into the void again... Oh well, maybe one day there'll be a copy for sale on Discogs with a shipping price that would not have me eligible to be committed to an institution if I actually paid it..

Oh shut up. I have two compact disc players + my car and no vinyl players. Believe it or not there are people out there who want the option of owning physical media, not just for the clear crisp digital aural pleasures, but also for the artwork/lyrics/liner notes/all that good stuff as well. Also, not wanting to pay 4 times the price, wait for it to be delayed for 3-6 months, and when it does arrive you can enjoy your favorite tunes with bonus hissing/surface noise/clicking/popping/having to turn it over every 3-4 songs, all that fun stuff..

Plus there's this amazing piece of technology called a CD burner that I'm sure at least one person out there will use so you'll have your digital files in no time. See, Everyone wins except for citizens of Australia and their international shipping charges

Sold out in just over an hour. Mad.

Wonder if there’ll be another run of them.

My bro

80s and early 90s CDs are particularly great and many have masters you can’t hear anywhere else

I have about 1000 CDs and 800 records, plus 100 cassettes or so (also awesome in their way)

Also CDs are way cheaper…like I don’t need to pay hundreds to have every type o negative album on vinyl, I’ll get the complete CD box set for $30. When you’re addicted to consuming music like me the prices really add up. I mooch off my friends Spotify family plan but am in general not a fan of streaming, and basically refused to pay for impermanent digital downloads (as cool as 24 bit HD audio is getting)

I happened to see this right when the Instagram post went up - and then decided to mull it over before pulling the trigger. Didn't know there were only 500 of them.

Gone!

Interesting indeed that they will now see that there's a market for this.

Now we wait until we can get Candide on CD! Need that lossless rip of that gem.

Speaking of lossless rips...

Isn't it amazing that the first CD release came out just days after the ridiculous cassette/candles boxset?
And for a much more affordable price than anything before.

If one could buy now the whole archiv project on CD the shipping costs wouldn't be higher than the item's price at worldwide shipping...

Limited to 500 is also a load of shit.

You could make thousands of these for a fraction of a vinyl run.
