I took this today. Would you card me? How old do I look? I'm taking it all as a compliment, even if no one answers

In New Zealand, the legal drinking age is 18, and anyone selling alcohol is required to ask for ID if they think you look under 25.

So, yes.

Under 25?! Here in the States they have to ask if you look under 40. Which is why I was irritated that I stopped getting carded since I'm not quite 29. -_-

yeah but which one takes more creativity? in my opinion it sounds like he's the one taking the easy route....is he doing any actual research that would bring any new insights about modern muslim culture or the immigrant experience that is at all thought provoking? or is he just drivelling out expected stereotypes in a prepackaged, easily-guessed narrative? (is he a redneck or a muslim?)

i love mysteries. they can be clever as hell and you can be really creative.

Yeah, his seemed fairly autobiographical. He was an Australian - I don't know about redneck, but he was from an area of Sydney where a lot of rednecks live. So I had wondered about it.

I appreciate the solidarity and faith in my work though if I'm honest my mystery wasn't anything amazing or clever or well researched. But it was still hard work, to write.

I haven't read that series Took, though it has been recommended to me! (The TV series, too.) I've been meaning to read them and just haven't managed it yet.

I was trying to write something very ordinary like Jonathan Kellerman and P.D. James - or a tv screenplay similar to Midsomer Murders, or Murder She Wrote. This guy was evidently not impressed by my lowbrow work and housewifely ambitions.

But I found acceptance with the others in the class and the teacher - actually the rest of the class ended up forming a drinking group that met up at a nearby bar. I think we tried to reach out to that guy but he was too good for FB so nobody knew how to get hold of him and he ended up not being invited. And then he dropped out of the class, I think. I can't remember. He was actually a nice guy, I think. Just a little judgy and candid.

Lol. "What if a hick fell in love with a Muslim?" Is this guy writing a Lifetime movie?

Also, I've found that above a certain age, maturity stops significantly rising with age, and the curve just sort of plateaus. Just knowing that somebody is 45 doesn't really tell me much about how different they will be from a 55-year-old. Eventually, adults are just kinda adults.

28 is technically a young 30, so I accept this (somewhat difficultly)

"young 30" means this:
if i met you i would guess your age around 30, because you're seemingly older than you might look. does that make any sense?

in other words, "you look young but i can tell somehow you're more mature than you look at first sight."

personally i think it's better to look 30 than 20 because people take you more seriously.
don't worry, i'm sure that 10 years from now lots of people will still think you're not past your 20's.

I am really bad at visually guessing age. ILP looks young to me cause she got nice skin and no wrinkles. I would believe she were 20 if she told me that was her age, but I also wouldn't be shocked if she were like 32 cause I feel like lots of people randomly carry their babby faces into full proper adulthood.

i struck a convo with a girl at my gym and she said i seemed mature for my age, but then she also thought i was in my early 20s. a little kid also told me i was short for my age.

win-win!
