Radiohead is so boring and so superficial that I cannot understand how the same guy can love SP and radiohead at same time.

I gave try today on OK Computer again and I dont see why the fuzz around it. That is good music to play on elevators at low sound level.

There's something different between those bands that I just can't put my finger on...

Yeah, I don't understand all of the Radiohead hype either. I mean there was some good stuff on their first 3 albums, but after that they got pretty lame.

Even some of the big hit singles on the first 3 albums are pretty shitty: Like High and Dry and Karma Police... Pretty weak.

With that said, Pablo Honey still holds up and is pretty damn awesome.

I guess a big appeal is that they've stuck with the original lineup and never pathetically and desperately tried to stay relevant by chasing trends.... unlike a particular cue-ball headed fellow who we're all aware of.

no offense, but SP is just Black Sabbath plus Cheap Trick plus Bowie with some psychedelia thrown in. More or less.

but they do it really really well.

A major factor in the band's appeal is the fact that James Iha is an Asian.

They were never cool and not cool to this day. How many Asians do you know in your life who are cool? That's why Asian girls are dumping Asian guys and going for the white guys now. Cause Asian guys are lame.

My best friend is a Chinese man. And he is cool. He can cook and rock climb like you wouldn't believe. Also he has a smokin hot Brazilian GF.

I would never dump him for a white male best friend

Maybe your best friend is just one in a million.

But majority of Asian guys in the US have trouble dating.

Go to any US city with large Asian population. Notice how there are way more Asian girl-White guy couples than the other way around. How do you explain this phenomenon?

Do you know what superficial means?

And an elevator ride with the anxiety fueled adrenaline pumping Paranoid Android playing sounds like the most terrifying elevator ride ever

That thing's got some of the best album art out there. The album's aged really well. The kicker for me is "Climbing Up The Walls".

I only started checking out more of Radiohead's catalogue in the last few years or so; when OKC first came out it depressed the shit out of me, couldn't stand it. I still consider Fitter Happier kind of unsettling.
