I did too, for seven years

does that mean that until you have not eaten animals for more than seven years, actually I am still better than you?

But simultaneously, we were a meat-eating family who consumed way more chicken, beef, and pork than is healthy, just like most Americans, and she never felt bad about that, and purposely avoided information about the suffering of factory farm animals and stuff like that.

So I grew up and it just became a symbol to me of hypocritical white middle class no-responsibility make-me-feel-good ethics. It makes no sense, but in her twisted reality, she was doing a good thing for animals by not eating the duck
To be clear I don't think I'm doing a good thing and I recognize the inconsistency but it won't make me any more comfortable eating these animals. I'm not actually upset other people do it's just fun to pretend you know?

I mean I am upset about it a little. In a personal way. But I don't blame anyone else for not feeling the same way

you've beaten me on that front, yes.

But still there are so many fronts in which I must have been a better human being

Funnily enough, I only eat fish/shellfish very occasionally and I don't eat dairy/red meat/chicken/pork etc. I guess it makes me a pescatarian who doesn't eat dairy?

Most fish is fucking terrible for you, and shrimp especially..but I seem to not give a shit.

I read an article yesterday which studied human feces and it all had microplastics in it. Every single one, no matter what the og poopers diet was.

I guess we're all slowly turning into tupperware.

could be an iron thing?

i stopped eating meat some years ago but depending where i am that can mean limited options for real nutrition.
after a couple months in scotland i was craving shrimp like crazy. so i had some. they were amazing (fresh caught local)
i started feeling really off. physically drained and lethargic. i thought it was bc my body wasn't used to shrimp anymore.

then i realised i was severely anaemic and it was my body crying out for help.

shrimps are the best.
