watch Frenzy if you haven't... both one of Hitch's funniest and most gruesome.

that's the next one in the (butt)canon innit? after Topaz I mean

i actually really like Hitch's last couple of films, not sure if that's a popular opinion or not but it has been a while since i've watched either that one or Family Plot

Globes did you watch Torn Curtain?

Yes, Frenzy is next (it's the next one in the Universal set).

I watched Torn Curtain a few months back, before I acquired the set. I liked it. But you can't really go wrong with Paul Newman.

Sorry, Wrong Number

Film noir adaptation of a radio play that has no unlikable characters but was still interesting from beginning to end.

8/10

Underwater - 3/5
Totally solid if a little unsurprising alien-like movie but underwater (duh).

No, but I definitely will. Been thinking about 3 women quite a bit. Crazy how the roles reversed after the suicide attempt.

I give it a B or maybe a B-. much better than the 1990 miniseries, but that's a really low bar and anything would be better

i think they did a real good job with flawed material. there are parts of this that are just a hot mess and likely would be in anyone's hands. visuals were more compelling, the actors were strong,

they did a good job of making it more compelling, i liked it overall but have built-in affinity for the story

It wasn't Hader's fault that It Two sucked. They just blew their wad with the first film is all. Really, It is the sort of story that would play out better as a 10-part HBO miniseries or something.

I thought IT Chapter Two was hot trash.

Jessica Chastain and Bill Hader deserve better roles in much better movies.

Finished off the Hitchcock boxset...

The Birds

I've seen this one a couple of times already. It's a top-shelf creature feature, but not necessarily Hitch's best offering. Still creepy as hell in spots.

8/10

--------

Frenzy

Appreciated the dark humor, but the pace was wonky as hell. Still, a lot of nifty camerawork and some pretty brilliant set pieces. I wish we got more of the police detective and his wife's bad food, though. That stuff was gold.

8/10

--------

Family Plot

Hitch's final film, and I loved it. Karen Black! Bruce Dern! What's not to love? Made me laugh a lot and the car speeding down the mountain with its brakes cut almost made me wet myself.

9/10

Did I mention it also made me crave a hamburger with lettuce and tomato? I mean, who eats hamburgers with lettuce and tomato? And this movie convinced me that it's something I actually crave? Genius!

Skeleton Twins: B

A little cheesy, but overall enjoyable. I could watch Bill Hader be funny for the rest of my life
