Not really. His model favoured Trump more than others and gave him a 30% chance or something. An 11% chance that Clinton would win the popular vote and Trump would win the Electoral College, as well.

Trump was given a lower probability of winning, but low probabilities are not nothing. You have an 11% chance of rolling a five with two dice, but you could still get it on your first try.

yeah that's not true, as DK explained. He actually had a twitter war with a HuffPo hack over whether or not Trump could actually win. Silver was obviously right. Also, yeah, he had been indicating an electoral college/popular vote split for some time as a serious possibility. He favored Clinton about 3:1 at the end, but he also outlined exactly how Trump won as a possibility
