I think he has a hard on for how the industry used to work and how it works now. He needs to go back to pretending it's the old days of recording. Sit down, write, write, write; make some fucking demos; call the band; go through every song, etc.

Kitty Kat is so good and it seems like a miss! I feel like it's the product of them going for something like I Am One or or Geek USA and not getting it quite right. The fact that it's still insanely good just shows what a powerhouse they once were. The double door 1995 version is so good, like they don't even really like the song but it can't help but tear it up.

I don't need anything, and I'm not expecting anything from the old days. In fact, I'd like to see the band morph into something, but this is absolutely soleless.

The music being made lacks any type of substance. I have no idea what the lyrics mean. There's absolutely zero connection to any song whether happy or sad. What made SP special was their lyrical connection; it had emotion and was raw. I can't even remember a single line from any of these songs that does that. I heard "penetration" in one song. That's what I'm walking away with after giving this one about 6 listens.
