I'm at 2015, I just found out about LukeDeSpa It's terribly sad, but what a righteous example of how to approach the situation with dignity and humility.

It's strange how exchanges that you can have on a little corner of the internet are carried with you as you go through life. I'm not going to pretend that I knew the man personally, but certainly the way he thought about life and the way he shared his views, concisely, sometimes acerbic, but with the idea that although life ultimately doesn't matter, it's something which can be liberating rather than oppressive. Freeing you to pursue anything you want.

It's something that a few other of you here are like, and it's definitely become a part of me.

Hey man, good to see you. I still feel bad about Luke, I actually talked to my therapist about him when he told everyone he would be dying within a few days/weeks/months. I don't remember the context of how I found the article, possibly searched for his name looking for more of his demos or something

Hey Reprise, thanks for the link - I know he was a private guy, and the internet, especially here was a free place where you could express yourself, but I don't think he'd mind in the end.

I didn't want to bump the ask luke thread because i felt that anything I said would be horribly trite, but the more I thought about it the more it affected me, one of my friends is going through the same thing - he's recovered once but its back in his brain. The way he is dealing with it is similar, and even though it's ok to show weakness, the perspective he shares is something we can all learn from.

I'm glad you talked it through with your therapist, I know you have your struggle - I can't know what it's like for you but I hope you take strength from this.

I'm gonna go and post some stupid shit in the belly forum now.
