That first poster is not a Nazi poster. It's from a German airline, a company. Nazis used some art deco, so did many others, and it's all across the US. The most obvious reference here is "Wings of the Republic", which you can see in several places.

the Deutsche Lufthansa was as business directly operating for Dolfy Hitler, so you got that part wrong. that is nazi era Deutsche Lufthansa aesthetic. (what whywontyoulisten posted.)
http://www.spiegel.de/kultur/tv/luft...-a-709913.html

and this tour poster looks to my Euro-eyes like Leni Riefenstahl with less taste done by a hack designer. you can call it whatever you want, though. HailBolly for example.

sure, why not? they are really reaching too with this tour, stays right in line.
this is simply what I see when I see this poster.

and I would predict using this for an arena tour in Germany wouldn't go all that well. with part of the audience, that is. very hip for the other part.

One of the things I always loved about the band was their sense of aesthetic. Hippy vibe in the Gish era, amazing turn of the century/weird paintings during MCIS, goth Adore era

I don't get why they're going for Nazis for this tour

I think you’re reaching with the German connection guys. It’s just a 1920’s style a la Luhrmann’s Great Gatsby.

The artwork is in a similar vein as the OGILALA style minus the native american motif. Both have that retro art deco look to them with the new SP artwork having a metropolis feel, 20's vintage deco vibe with a modern style. Definitely, a borrowed and tired look..Oh well.

I’m not buying the Nazi connection. Now, if they paired the imagery with a German title, like I don’t know... Zeitgeist, then you’d really have something.

Anyways, I’m certain the announcement will be for a new album that comes with smart bulbs, each shade coming with a different set of songs, each set recorded with different combination of “smashing pumpkins” members. Then you’ll all have serious egg on your faces.

SP artwork has a lot of strange references ... the cross, that was used during the farewell tour 2000 is actually the cross of Scientology. Back in the days, Virgin said, it was created by a munich design company (without knowledge of that fact).

So it says on a few sites the tour is exclusively Gish/SD/MCIS/Adore/Machina era material. Thats a start.

williampcorgan And now that we can discuss this, @jjjschroeder, @jamesihaofficial and I are going to a 3-guitar supershoegaze alignment for the tour. So expect crazy hyper-sonic recreations of the first 5 SP albums. Which I'm so psyched for, our ability to bring all that beautiful guitar work to life for the very first time #smashingpumpkins @smashingpumpkins #SP2018
