Good riddance to KB but they'll fuck up the new mixes somehow.

Did KB remix anything else other than Starla? It was the only one that stood out to me as a bad remix. Everything else seemed pretty faithfully and appropriately mixed.

It's not like anything from this era needs remixing. Parts of MCIS really need it though. Adore onwards needs a way less intense mastering, but I can't see that happening since the remasters so far have all been way fucking louder.

Still wish they'd replace all the covers with completely new and unheard demos/outtakes.

I thought the Plume remix was equally terrible.

Unless I missed something, KB only remixed Starla and Plume, which was not as bad but still shitty.

edit: woooops. didn't see post above me.

yes.

soon as the Gish reissue was released it was apparent this is the way they'd all go. i mean why 5 PI tracks on Gish CD2? totally unnecessary. personally i'd have loved the Gish bonus disk to be all pre-Gish songs, with stuff like Honeyspider, Pulseczar + Drown on the PI bonus disk. things like the live Snail radio performance would be ideal for SPRC (remember that?) release.

also, some would see this as heresy but i could live with the covers on the Pisces album being replaced with actual SP songs - probably Honeyspider and Not Worth Asking.

I just hope they don't make the album cover look retarded like they did with Gish and Siamese Dream. I couldn't give two shits about the CD versions, but as a vinyl collector I care about the presentation and want it to look like the original.

But what if it's the artists intent for it not to look like that? As a vinyl collector, wouldn't you want to accept the artist's intent in regards to the presentation?

Filling the whole album with outtakes from "Gish" and "siamese dream" could be a great idea but the songs from here are lacking of originality and their specific energy.
there are good songs like dark and creepy "soothe","Landslide" and "Obscured","Hello kity kat" rocks like nothing before but it is a bit to less to give it 3 stars.
these songs from album are leaving you wanting more but there is nothing more really.unfinished songs, jams and nothing really important for standard rock fan although Pumpkins fans will buy it anyway.

This is probably the worst CD I've ever heard! If you consider lots of screaming and cuss words music, go for it. I was hoping for a little quality rock music. This will be the last S.P. CD I will buy.

I really love the packaging of the reissues but why all filler material as bonuses? I mean we keep hearing how packed the SP vault is and yet they still offer us stuff we already have.

Yeah, I love all of the post cards and individual sleeves for the CDs and the bits of artwork and shit. I'm a sucker for that. Doesn't even really matter what's on disc 2. There didn't even have to be a disc 2, just give me individual bits of cardboard and paper!

If the artist is Billy Corgan I really couldn't give two shits. Plus, if I'm buying the VINYL version of the album, I am buying it partly for nostalgic reasons that involve listening to the entire album and taking in the packaging and the album as a whole blah blah blah the point is I want it to be close to the original experience because I'm a douche like that.

I agree with everything DeusExMachina says in this thread. It's bullshit that Billy fucked with the artwork because finding a mint (or even a near mint) condition of Siamese Dream on vinyl is nearly impossible unless you want to buy that 2008/09 reissue. It's silly. The "reimagined" artwork didn't even suit the albums.

Nah you can still get a near mint Siamese Dream easily on vinyl (original version)

Pisces, Machina and Mellon Collie are the LPs that sorely need reissuing

So shouldn't we have heard something official by now? How long was the preorder page up for the first two re-releases?
